Overview

In 2025, the Glücksburg summer open-air program once again transformed the castle courtyard into a stage for film music. Hans Zimmer compositions and other film soundtracks were a regular feature of the Schloss Glücksburg Foundation's concert calendar — the highlight of a summer with concerts, theater performances, and castle tours at the moated castle.

Review: Summer Concerts 2025 in Glücksburg

Already in 2025, the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra graced Schloss Glücksburg with film music open-airs — part of a Glücksburg summer program that also included theater performances (Shakespeare's Macbeth production in the castle park) and other concert evenings.

The Schloss Glücksburg Foundation established the concept as a recurring summer format: film music hits in full orchestral arrangement, set against the Renaissance architecture of the white moated castle — a fusion of cultural heritage and pop classics, increasingly embraced by North German castles.
