Schloss Malberg Concert – Duo Fantastique

The Duo Fantastique at Schloss Malberg is one of the concert highlights of autumn 2026 in the Vulkaneifel. The violin duo format presents repertoire rarely heard in concert practice – works for two violins.

Duo Fantastique – two violins, one sound

The ensemble consists of two violinists:

• Marlene Hemmer: Violin.
• Florin Negreanu: Violin.

The two musicians have chosen their duo name Fantastique programmatically: they aim to explore the expressive, lyrical, and virtuosic possibilities of two violins and present repertoire that stands out from the standard.

Works for Two Violins

The repertoire for two violins includes works from Bach (especially the famous double violin concerto tradition) through Telemann and Mozart to modern composers like Bartók (Duos), Prokofiev, and many others. With the Schloss Malberg program, the duo presents its own selection from this rich repertoire.

Music Salon Schloss Malberg

The Music Salon in the baroque Schloss Malberg offers an intimate, acoustically privileged concert setting. The historic architecture, the human scale of the room, and the excellent acoustics make the salon an ideal chamber music hall.

Support for Castle Culture

Proceeds from the concerts benefit the preservation and cultural use of Schloss Malberg. With moderate ticket prices – €18 regular and €15 for members of the support association – attending the concert is affordable.

Autumn Concert in the Eifel

The date of October 4th falls during a period when the Eifel region displays its most beautiful autumnal side. A concert visit can be ideally combined with a walk in the Eifel's autumn landscape. The historic architecture of the castle and the chamber music tradition unfold with particular effect in this atmosphere.
