Overview

The 17th Schleswig-Holstein Solarcups took place on July 20, 2025, at artefact in Glücksburg. 53 teams competed in eight classes. The Solar Boat trophy was won by 'Der schwimmende Holländer' from the Hohe Geest school in Hohenwestedt. In the Solar E-Class, Erik Steinbrenner (Schulzentrum Schenefeld) won, and the Creative Class was won by Annika Lykke and Helene Benckert with their solar dream ship.

17th Schleswig-Holstein Solarcup

With 53 participating teams and eight competition classes, 2025 was one of the largest editions in the event's history. The weather cooperated — the sun provided enough energy for exciting races and regattas in the 5m basin.

Winning Teams 2025

  • Solar Boats: 'Der schwimmende Holländer' (Sarah Francovic and Hannah Jörn, Schule Hohe Geest Hohenwestedt). 2nd + 3rd places: 'Hoppe Tosse' (Emma + Line, Förde­gymnasium Flensburg) and 'Rasende Ente' (Luca Linde, Copernicus-Gymnasium Norderstedt). Solar-Ente by Solar­freunde Sprakebüll.
  • Solar E-Class with storage: Erik Steinbrenner, Schulzentrum Schenefeld. 2nd place 'Aquamobil', Gemeinschaftsschule Kaltenkirchen.
  • Creative Class: Annika Lykke and Helene Benckert with their solar dream ship. 2nd/3rd place 'Apyw III' and 'Ochsenboot' from Waldorfschule Flensburg.

Programme

July 20, 2025: Competition day with eight classes, solar boat regatta in the morning, ultralight class races in the afternoon, award ceremony in the late afternoon.
