Overview

The 40th anniversary edition of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival took place in 2025 in 73 cities between Flensburg, Hamburg, and Denmark. More than 200 concerts with international soloists in castles, churches, factory halls, and Hamburg's major concert halls – Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle – confirmed the SHMF's reputation as Northern Germany's most important summer festival.

The 2025 anniversary edition marked 40 years of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Over 200 concerts were spread across 120 venues between Flensburg, Hamburg, Denmark, and Lower Saxony. International top soloists and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra presented programs ranging from Baroque to Crossover.

In Hamburg, the opening concerts and numerous main program events took place in the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle. The SHMF once again confirmed its status as Northern Germany's largest subsidized classical music festival.
