Overview

In the 2025 season, the Sauschwänzlebahn also ran its 25-kilometer museum route through the Wutachtal valley — from Blumberg-Zollhaus via Epfenhofen and Lausheim-Blumegg to Weizen. On weekends, public holidays, and summer days on Thursdays/Fridays, steam and diesel trains operated. Special trips such as the Mother's Day trip, Prosecco trip, and the popular St. Nicholas trains in Advent were part of the regular program for the 2025 season.

2025 Season of the Sauschwänzlebahn

The 2025 season of the Sauschwänzlebahn ran as usual from the end of April to the end of October. Regular trains operated on the historic route between Blumberg-Zollhaus and Weizen on weekends and public holidays, and during the summer months also on weekdays. Four viaducts, six tunnels, and the Great Stockhalde loop tunnel ensured a unique railway experience through the Wutachtal valley, as always.

Special trips such as the Mother's Day trip, Prosecco trip, Schwarzwaldhof Engineer's Trips, and the Day of the Railway attracted railway enthusiasts from all over Southern Germany and Switzerland. At the end of the season, the traditional St. Nicholas trains ran on the first three Advent weekends.
