Festival of all Community Brigades

The Samtgemeinde-Feuerwehrfest is the annual central event of the volunteer fire brigades of the Tarmstedt community. The hosting duties rotate among the member brigades — in 2026, the Breddorf Volunteer Fire Brigade will be the host. The festival promotes cohesion among the brigades, honors the service of long-standing members, and fosters interaction between the fire brigade and the public.

Competitions and Demonstrations

The sporting centerpiece is the fire brigade technical competition between the teams of the individual brigades. The program includes pump competitions, hose relay races, obstacle courses in full protective gear, and disciplines from the national competition. The winning teams receive trophies and awards.

Demonstration Exercises for the Public

Demonstration exercises showcase practical firefighting work to the public. Scenarios such as traffic accidents with trapped persons, firefighting, rescue operations, and technical assistance will be presented. Commentary and explanations make the work of the fire brigade understandable for laypeople.

Refreshments, Live Music, Dance Evening

Throughout the day, food stalls run by the host fire brigade will provide visitors with sausages, fries, crêpes, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. In the evening, a dance evening with live music or a DJ will mark the social highlight. Families, club members, and guests mingle at the festival grounds.

Recognition for Volunteer Service

The Samtgemeinde-Feuerwehrfest is an important occasion to honor the volunteer service of the Volunteer Fire Brigades. Local politics and administration will be present with greetings and awards for special merits. Youth recruitment is also a focus — children and teenagers experience fire brigade technology up close.
