Overview

In 2025, the Ferry Kronsnest also kicked off the new season on May 1st with a Volksfest. On both banks of the Krückau, the ferry association, neighboring municipalities, and visitors celebrated the start of the ferry season.

The 2025 season opening took place, as is traditional, on May 1st. The Kronsnest Ferry Association, together with the neighboring municipalities of Seester and Neuendorf, organized a Volksfest on both banks, with snacks and drinks from Meierhof Möllgaard. Families from the Pinneberg district and the Hamburg metropolitan region used the May Day holiday for an excursion into the Haseldorfer Marsch — a region that, with its bird sanctuaries, meadows, and small farms, offers a clear contrast to the big city. An event with a quiet charm, rural format, and an undeniable connection to the history of the place.
