Edition 2025 — Saaletal Marathon
The 15th edition of the Saaletal Marathon on April 12, 2025, was, as always, sold out weeks before the start. Five distances, plus a Bambini race, led through the Fränkische Saaletal and the vineyard slopes near Ramsthal. Organizer SV Ramsthal e.V., start and finish area at the sports grounds, pasta party, and festive evening to round off the day.
The 15th edition ran in its proven format: staggered starts for all distances between 10:00 AM and 11:15 AM, voluntary course marshals, dense crowds of spectators in the village passages. In 2025, too, the scenically attractive course and the close-knit club organization of SV Ramsthal attracted runners from all over Southern Germany.
After the races, participants and their companions gathered in the festival tent at the sports grounds for the pasta party. The award ceremonies for all distances followed, and live music concluded the day. With the success of 2025, registration for 2026 opened in late summer 2025 – and was sold out within weeks.
