Rübenacher Kirmes

The Rübenacher Kirmes is one of the largest district festivals in the city of Koblenz. The organizer is the K.u.K. Kirmes- und Karnevalsgesellschaft Rot-Weiß Rübenach e.V., whose abbreviation "K.u.K." refers to the combination of Kirmes and Karneval (Carnival) – both traditions have shaped club life in Rübenach for generations.

A District in Festive Frenzy

Rübenach is located on the western outskirts of Koblenz, nestled between the Moselle Valley and the Maifeld. For several days, the festival grounds and community center become the focal point of public life. A festival tent, showmen with amusement rides, catering stands run by local clubs, and a stage program ensure a wide range of attractions.

The Three Big Kirmes Days

Characteristic of Rübenach is the dramaturgy over the three Kirmes days: Sunday as the main day with a celebratory church service, Frühschoppen (morning pint), and a grand stage program; Monday with the traditional Kirmesumzug through the streets of Rübenach, as well as afternoon games for children and adults; Tuesday with the convivial Kirmesfrühstück, where club members and guests celebrate the end of the Kirmes together.

Tradition and Carnival Connection

The K.u.K. Rübenach is not only the organizer of the Kirmes but also one of the prominent Carnival societies in western Koblenz. This makes the Kirmes the second highlight of the club year for many members and ensures particularly committed participation in the parade.

Street Spectacle

The Kirmesumzug on Monday winds through the main streets of Rübenach, bringing together Carnival, music, sports, and traditional costume clubs from the district and neighboring towns. With floats, dance groups, brass bands, and the traditional Rot-Weiß flag, it offers a colorful spectacle for the numerous guests lining the streets.
