66 Years of RoKaGe
The Rottendorfer Karnevals Gesellschaft (RoKaGe) celebrates its 66th anniversary in the 2025/2026 season – a particularly significant anniversary in carnival. For this occasion, the club has organized an extended program series with two gala sessions, a children's session, a seniors' session, a mega party, and the traditional carnival parade. The carnival parade on Shrove Tuesday is the undisputed highlight.
Shrove Tuesday at 2:11 PM
The carnival parade traditionally starts at 2:11 PM – the famous fool's numbers come from the Mainz carnival (November 11th, 11:11 AM start of the season). Participants from Rottendorf, Estenfeld, Würzburg, and the entire Lower Franconian carnival region parade with floats, walking groups, and bands through Bahnhofstraße, Hauptstraße, Estenfelder Straße, and Parkstraße.
Supporting Program in the TSV-Halle
After the parade, participants and spectators gather in the TSV-Halle Rottendorf, where a supporting program with live music, performances by the RoKaGe-Garde, and dancing awaits. The 66th-anniversary celebration will be particularly special here. The TSV-Halle also hosts other seasonal events such as sessions and the mega party.
Carnival in Lower Franconia
Rottendorf is located in the district of Würzburg and belongs to the Lower Franconian carnival region, which is connected to Würzburg, Veitshöchheim (home of the ZDF show "Fastnacht in Franken"), and numerous clubs like the Würzburger Karnevalsgesellschaft. The Rottendorf parade traditionally attracts many visitors from the surrounding area.
