About Rosenmontagszug Koblenz

The Rosenmontagszug Koblenz is one of the largest Carnival parades in Rhineland-Palatinate and one of the most significant in the entire Middle Rhine region. The organizer is the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Koblenzer Karneval (AKK), which organizes the parade monster with over 5,000 active participants, more than 100,000 spectators, and a route length of around four kilometers through Koblenz city center. The parade starts punctually at 12:11 PM and winds its way from Rheinstraße via Firmungsstraße, Entenpfuhl, Görgenstraße, Viktoriastraße, and Hohenzollernstraße to Friedrich-Ebert-Ring. Afterwards, the AKK's After-Parade Party takes place on Münzplatz — free admission.

The Rosenmontagszug Koblenz is one of the oldest and largest Carnival parades in West Germany. The organizer is the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Koblenzer Karneval (AKK), the umbrella organization of all Koblenz Carnival clubs. It coordinates the parade and has ensured professional and safe organization of the major event for decades.

Tradition

Koblenz Carnival boasts a history of over 200 years. In the Middle Rhine region, Koblenz Carnival culture is the most influential and defining, with numerous clubs, its own Carnival language ("Olau Ahoi"), and a distinct festival culture. The Rosenmontagszug is the absolute highlight of the Carnival season.
