Grand Rose Monday Parade of the AKK with 5,000 participants and over 100,000 spectators in the city center
The Rosenmontagszug Koblenz is one of the oldest and largest Carnival parades in West Germany. The organizer is the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Koblenzer Karneval (AKK), the umbrella organization of all Koblenz Carnival clubs. It coordinates the parade and has ensured professional and safe organization of the major event for decades.
Koblenz Carnival boasts a history of over 200 years. In the Middle Rhine region, Koblenz Carnival culture is the most influential and defining, with numerous clubs, its own Carnival language ("Olau Ahoi"), and a distinct festival culture. The Rosenmontagszug is the absolute highlight of the Carnival season.
The parade starts at 12:11 PM on Rheinstraße and follows a route of approximately four kilometers through the city center: Rheinstraße – Firmungsstraße – Entenpfuhl – Görgenstraße – Viktoriastraße – Hohenzollernstraße – Rizzastraße – Kurfürstenstraße – Schenkendorfstraße – Roonstraße – Löhrstraße – Friedrich-Ebert-Ring. Over 100 floats and walking groups with a total of more than 5,000 active participants march through the city center to the cheers of more than 100,000 spectators.
After the official end of the parade, the big After-Parade Party of the AKK takes place on Münzplatz. Free admission. Live music, DJ program, catering, and exuberant Carnival atmosphere keep the revelers in the city center until late in the evening. The party continues in the old town pubs.
The 2026 edition follows the traditional route and the proven program of the AKK. The clubs and float groups will be announced in advance on akk-koblenz.de.
2026 Program Structure:
