Overview

The 30th anniversary edition of Rohkunstbau 2025 took place at Altdöbern Castle, showcasing works by international contemporary artists over five months. The association Rohkunstbau e.V. celebrated three decades of experimental art exhibitions in Brandenburg castles with this edition.

2025 marked a milestone year for Rohkunstbau: 30 years of summer exhibitions in Brandenburg castles, 30 themes, 30 curators. Over this time, the festival has become a fixture on the German exhibition calendar—even if the Lausitz region might not seem like an art hub at first glance, Rohkunstbau has established it as a destination for summer art.

The 31st edition in 2026 builds on this legacy—with a strong curatorial concept (Christoph Tannert) and an international selection of artists. Altdöbern Castle is an established venue, with its park and historic rooms allowing for both large-scale installations and contemplative individual presentations.
