Rock am Dom Gelsenkirchen

Rock am Dom Gelsenkirchen 2025 was organized, as in previous years, by the Förderverein Rock am Dom Gelsenkirchen e.V. (Support Association Rock am Dom Gelsenkirchen) in the Buer district. Admission was free.

Two stages — the Domplatte in front of the St. Urbanus Church as the main stage and the Michaelshaus at Urbanus Park as the second venue — formed the festival setup. Acts such as Kensington Road, Die Gabys, and Thomas Godoj & Band performed in previous editions; in 2025 too, Pop, Rock, Reggae, and Singer/Songwriter were the focus, with a strong emphasis on acoustic unplugged arrangements. Additionally, the Kulturbiergarten Buer at the Michaelshaus ran for several weeks in the summer with live music, comedy, and cabaret. Thousands of visitors from Gelsenkirchen and the northern Ruhr area attended the open-air festival — a precedent for the 2026 edition.
