Autumn in the Half-Timbered Town
As the days grow shorter and the first mists cover the Weser Valley, the time of the Autumn Fair begins in Rinteln. For four days, the historic old town transforms into a festive meeting place for families, young people, and older guests who love the traditions of the autumn fair (Kirmes). The combination of the half-timbered backdrop and colourful showman tradition makes the event a special experience.
Rides and Food Stalls
Showmen from Northern Germany travel with their rides: a Ferris wheel, dodgems, chain carousel, thrill rides, and children's rides provide variety. Food stalls offer typical folk festival fare such as bratwurst, French fries, potato pancakes (Reibekuchen), crêpes, roasted almonds, and gingerbread. Sales stands complete the offering with sweets, toys, and curious folk festival items.
Autumn Atmosphere
The Autumn Fair particularly benefits from the autumnal atmosphere: cool evenings, festive lighting on the rides, and the aroma of mulled apple wine (Bratapfel), mulled wine (Glühwein), and bratwurst create a very unique mood. Many regular visitors consider the Autumn Fair their secret favourite event in the Rinteln festival calendar.
Rinteln in November
The town of Rinteln presents itself in autumnal splendour in November. Visitors to the Autumn Fair can easily combine their stay with a city tour, a visit to the local history museum, or a hike in the surrounding Weser Uplands.
