Grand Wine Festival on Theresienstraße — traditionally the world's longest vineyard lane — on the first weekend of August
The Rhodt Wine Festival is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric Palatinate wine festivals. From Friday, July 31, 2026, to Monday, August 3, 2026, Theresienstraße – traditionally the world's longest vineyard lane – transforms into an uninterrupted festival mile. Rhodt's vintners open their courtyards, clubs serve wine, and Palatinate specialties at the food stalls provide the culinary accompaniment.
Rhodt unter Rietburg is one of the most picturesque wine villages on the Southern Wine Route. The historic architecture with its sandstone vaults, its location at the foot of the Rietburg, the famous Theresienstraße, and the abundance of almond trees make the place a tourist magnet. During the wine festival, this atmosphere intensifies into the social highlight of the year.
Theresienstraße in Rhodt unter Rietburg is considered the world's longest continuous vineyard lane. It stretches for several hundred meters, lined with wineries, vintner courtyards, wine shops, and historic townhouses. During the wine festival, the entire street becomes a festival mile: wine stands of the vintners, food stalls of the clubs, seating areas under the almond trees, and stages for live music characterize the scene.
The wineries of Rhodt form the heart of the festival. Each estate presents its wines either at its own courtyard or at a stand on Theresienstraße. Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Gris, Pinot Noir, Cuvées, sparkling wines, and Rosé offer a complete selection of Palatinate wines. The Rhodt vineyard sites – especially the famous Rhodter Schlossberg – are among the recognized top sites of the Southern Wine Route.
The festival runs from Friday to Monday and follows the classic Palatinate wine festival dramaturgy: Opening on Friday evening, festival operations with live music on Saturday, morning pint and family program on Sunday, and winding down on Monday. The atmosphere is convivial, with a crowd ranging from regular guests from the region to tourists who specifically visit the wine festival as a seasonal highlight.
Rhodt lies at the foot of the Rietburg ruins, which tower over the village on a hill and are accessible by chairlift. From the castle hill, there is a wide view over the Southern Wine Route and the Rhine plain. Those who visit the wine festival often combine the festival weekend with a trip to the Rietburg or a walk through the vineyards of the Schlossberg.
Four days of Palatinate wine culture in one of the most beautiful settings on the Southern Wine Route. Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Gris, Pinot Noir, Cuvées, sparkling wines. The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
