Spring Volksfest in the Glass City
The Rheinbach May Fair is the traditional spring Volksfest (folk festival) of the city of Rheinbach in the southern Rhein-Sieg district. For decades, it has occupied the Prümer Wall – one of the central squares of the historic old town – and the adjacent Pützstraße at the beginning of May. The organizer is the City of Rheinbach in cooperation with the regional showmen's association.
Dates 2026 – April 30 to May 4
The 2026 edition runs for five days, from Thursday, April 30 to Monday, May 4 – covering the bridge day (Friday, May 1 = May Day holiday) and the weekend. An optimal constellation for families and day-trippers.

Closures and Arrival
During the fair, Prümer Wall and Martinstraße will be completely closed to traffic from April 26 to May 5, 2026. Arrival by public transport is recommended: Bus to Wilhelmsplatz stop or by train to Rheinbach station (S-Bahn 23 Voreifelbahn). By car: Parking facilities in the city center around the Wall, early arrival recommended.
Rheinbach – The Glass City
Rheinbach is the German "Glass City" – home to the vocational school for glass (Glasfachschule) and organizer of the glass fair. This industrial and craft tradition makes the city an attractive day trip destination. The May Fair combines well with a visit to the Glass Museum or the city center.
