Overview

In 2025, the Ortskulturring Reckendorf also invited to the five-day Kirchweih on the first weekend of September. As cultivated for generations: beer tapping, dance evening, parade, morning pint, and Kirwa burial — a classic Franconian village Kerwa in the Itz Valley.

The Reckendorf Kerwa 2025 followed the established format over five days. The festival day was marked by a festive service in the parish church, a parade of the participating clubs through the village, a morning pint with brass music, and Kerwa dancing in the afternoon. Dance evenings on Friday and Saturday, carousels and bratwurst stands on the festival grounds — and finally, on Monday evening, the traditional Kirwa burial as the closing act.

In the Bamberg district, the Reckendorf Kerwa is one of the fixed September dates — nestled between the summer Kirchweihen of the Main Franconian communities and the late September series around the Harvest Festival weekends.
