Overview

The 3rd edition of the Ravensburger Lichterfest took place in March 2025 in the old town. Over a thousand participants carried the grand figure parade with light objects and lanterns, the accompanying program was spread throughout the city center with light installations, live music, and art exhibitions. The participatory art project by KAPUZINER Ravensburg once again confirmed its significance as a cultural highlight of the Upper Swabian spring.

2025 — Lichterfest in the Old Town

The third edition in 2025 continued the tradition of the participatory Lichterfest: months of workshop work in schools, kindergartens, and clubs culminated in the grand figure parade through Ravensburg's old town. The historic substance of the city — towers, city walls, alleys — provided the backdrop for a night of light, music, and community art.

Thousands of visitors from the city and region came to the city center. KAPUZINER, as the organizer, once again coordinated an exceptionally broad network of educational institutions, volunteers, and artists. Light installations on the Mehlsack, Blaserturm, and Frauentor merged the city's medieval character with contemporary staging. After its third edition, the Lichterfest definitively established itself as a cultural highlight of the Upper Swabian spring and as one of the largest participatory art projects in the German-speaking world.
