Regional Market with Live Music at the Glassworks Museum Village
The Baruther Glashütte is one of the best-preserved historic glassworks sites in Germany. Located in the forest south of the town of Baruth/Mark, in the Teltow-Fläming district, the museum village showcases the ensemble of workers' houses, school, furnace, and administrative buildings where glass was produced from 1716 until the mid-20th century. Today, artisans, an active glassblowing workshop, and manufactories reside in the restored houses. This very ensemble forms the backdrop for RadikalRegional.
On market day, RadikalRegional brings together producers from southern Brandenburg and the Berlin area: beekeepers, dairies, bakers, millers, market gardens, and manufacturers of mustard, honey, and jams, as well as small breweries and distilleries. The focus is on truly regional products — unlike at markets where 'regional' often serves as a mere label, here the question 'who produced this and where' remains answerable.
The day is accompanied by music and complemented by activities around the glassworks: workshop visits, glassblowing demonstrations, and guided tours of the museum village. Framed by the historic wooden houses and brick buildings, a special atmosphere emerges between craft history and contemporary direct marketing.
RadikalRegional is part of a small early summer weekend in the Baruth region: On Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Mill Festival will take place simultaneously at the Horstmühle Baruth. Those who want to experience Brandenburg craftsmanship and direct marketing as a double feature can combine both dates.
RadikalRegional 2026 takes place on Saturday, May 23, from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Baruther Glashütte Museum Village. The market is organized by the City of Baruth/Mark in cooperation with the museum village. The focus is on producers and manufactories from southern Brandenburg — beekeepers, dairies, bakers, distillers, breweries, mustard and honey manufacturers. The market is accompanied by live music and complementary activities around the museum village (workshop visits with local artisans, glassblowing demonstrations). For those who want to extend the weekend: on Sunday, May 24, the Mill Festival takes place at Horstmühle Baruth.
