Overview

The premiere of the Queer Street Festival Reuterkiez took place on June 14 and 15, 2025, in front of the Hoven café (Pflügerstraße 19, Neukölln). The two-day festival was initiated in response to repeated right-wing and homophobic attacks on the café. It featured drag shows, political speeches (with former Green Party leader Ricarda Lang and Berlin's Queer Commissioner Alfonso Patisano), live music by Leopold and Moritz Bäckerling, and a screening of the film "The Center of the World" at the neighboring cinema. Over 1,000 visitors attended, making it a solidarity festival and a neighborhood celebration simultaneously.

The premiere on June 14 and 15, 2025, attracted over 1,000 visitors to Pflügerstraße in Reuterkiez. Political figures such as Ricarda Lang (former co-chair of Alliance 90/The Greens) and Alfonso Patisano (Berlin's Queer Commissioner) spoke at the opening. Live music was provided by Leopold and Moritz Bäckerling, drag performances graced the street stage, and a screening of "The Center of the World" was held at a nearby cinema. The festival was entirely funded by crowdfunding and established itself as a significant statement of solidarity for Berlin's queer community.
