Autumn Hiking around German Unity Day

The Pirminius Hiking and Experience Days are held twice a year – in spring and autumn. The autumn edition takes advantage of the long weekend around October 3rd (German Unity Day) and offers three days of concentrated hiking program in the autumnal landscape of the Palatinate Forest. The city of Pirmasens, which cultivates hiking as a tourist trademark, organizes the event in the tradition of previous editions.

Nordic Walking and Hiking Tours

The program includes hiking tours of varying difficulty levels as well as Nordic walking routes. This variety corresponds to the aim of offering a suitable program for all interested parties – from leisurely hikers to sporty, ambitious tour hikers. The tours are guided, so that even visitors unfamiliar with the area can get to know the region safely.

Guest Appearance by Well-Known Hiking Authors

A special feature of the autumn edition is the guest appearance of well-known hiking authors. These personalities – authors of hiking guides, bloggers, outdoor journalists – bring their expertise, lead tours, and share their experiences with the participants. This encounter with professionals makes the weekend interesting even for experienced hikers.

The Palatinate Forest-North Vosges Biosphere Reserve presents itself in October in autumnal splendor: foliage colors, clear air, mild temperatures, long shadows. This atmospheric quality gives the autumn tours their special charm.
