Overview
As every year, the Patronatsfest Hüttstadl 2025 was celebrated by the Hüttstadl/St.Veit shooting club in honor of its patron saint, Saint Vitus. Three days of festivities at the shooting club house, including a festival evening, shooting program, and festival service, upheld the Catholic patron saint tradition and shooting sport tradition in the Fichtelgebirge. Friendly shooting clubs participated.
The Patronatsfest 2025 in Hüttstadl confirmed the reliable village ritual. The combination of the Catholic patron saint's day and the shooting tradition makes the festival authentically Upper Franconian — not very touristy, intimate, supported by club members and the village community.
The tradition of Saint Vitus as the patron saint of miners dates back to the mining history of the Fichtelgebirge. In Hüttstadl, it is re-enacted every year and linked to contemporary club life.
