Bürgerhaus and Park as a Meeting Point

For years, the Bürgerhaus Unkel has been a central meeting point for culture, club life, and civic engagement in Unkel. Various festivals and events take place in the park around the Bürgerhaus throughout the year – the Parkfest "Heister" in August is one of the highlights.

Program: Music, Children, Cake

The program follows a classic trio: live music from a regional band (pop, folk, acoustic) or a local combo will play on the stage in the park; a children's program with games, face painting, craft activities, and a bouncy castle will be offered concurrently; a lavish cake buffet – donated and managed by local residents – forms the gastronomic heart of the event. Additionally, there will be bratwurst, fries, drinks, and beer.

Friends Association and Civic Engagement

The Parkfest is primarily supported by the Friends of the Bürgerhaus Unkel association. The proceeds from food and drinks, as well as donations, go directly towards the maintenance and further development of the Bürgerhaus – a concrete example of neighborhood engagement with visible benefits.

Atmosphere of Well-being Instead of a Major Event

The Parkfest is deliberately not a large-scale event, but a cozy summer festival that utilizes the park as the city's green lung and focuses on community interaction.
