Family Festival in the Kulturpark Pockau

The last weekend in May traditionally belongs to children and families in Pockau: The Kulturpark Pockau transforms into a place for play, experience, and community for three days. The Park and Children's Festival is one of the most important events in the annual calendar of the town of Pockau-Lengefeld — not a major event with out-of-town bands, but a lovingly prepared festival by local clubs, the church community, the school, and the kindergarten.

Friday — Cinema Evening in the Festival Marquee

The kick-off on Friday evening has been a highlight for years: A cinema evening with a screen is held in the large festival marquee, organized in cooperation with the local church community, which provides food and drinks. Family-friendly film selection, cushions and blankets welcome, a truly cozy atmosphere — a successful start to the weekend.

Saturday — Games Olympiad and Marble Run

Saturday is Children's Day on a grand scale: A games olympiad leads the young guests to various stations where they collect points. The highlight is several duck races on the nearby stream — the numbered plastic ducks are sold in advance, the fastest win prizes. A special highlight in 2026: the opening of a brand-new marble run in the Kulturpark, a permanent play structure that will belong to the Kulturpark from this weekend onwards. In addition, there's a bouncy castle, craft stations, face painting, competitions, and a colorful afternoon.

Sunday — Church Service, Frühschoppen, Flea Market

Sunday starts with a festival marquee church service, followed by 'Frühschoppen' with local musicians (brass music, acoustic). Simultaneously, a flea market opens around the Kulturpark — a great opportunity to clear out the children's wardrobe before the summer holidays and discover new treasures. The festival concludes cozily on Sunday afternoon.

Pockau-Lengefeld in the Erzgebirge

The town of Pockau-Lengefeld was formed in 2014 from the merger of several places and now has around 5,600 inhabitants. It is located in the Erzgebirgskreis district in the Middle Erzgebirge, south of Marienberg, in the valley of the Schwarze Pockau river. The Kulturpark in Pockau is the green heart of the town and the venue for many events. With the historic oil mill Pockau, Lengefeld Castle, and its proximity to the Erzgebirge ridge, the region also offers many opportunities for an extended weekend stay.
