Review: Parchim Christmas Market 2025

For the first time in 2025, the Parchim Christmas Market took place in the new "Christmas Market meets Mill Christmas" format. From December 5th to 7th, the festival mile extended from Fischerdamm across the courtyard of the Irish Pub to the harbour terraces on the Elde river. Opening on Friday at 3:00 PM by Frau Holle and Santa Claus, followed by a three-day programme with markets, concerts, readings, and a family area.

The relocation was prompted by construction work at St. Mary's Church. However, the new format proved so successful that the city administration decided to make it permanent from 2026 onwards. Thousands of visitors from Parchim and the surrounding district attended the market — the atmosphere on the nightly illuminated harbour terraces was praised as a significant added value compared to the old location.
