Overview

The Outside World Festival 2025 took place at the end of April at Edelfettwerk Hamburg-Stellingen. Two nights of Trance, Hardtrance, Techno, and HandsUp sets across four floors, featuring Trance classics from the 90s and 2000s and the contemporary Berlin techno line. The LGBTQIA+-affirmative program line was continued.

The 2025 edition established the Outside World Festival as a firm fixture for the Northern German Trance scene. Four floors at Edelfettwerk, long rave nights from 9 PM to 6 AM, a program line balancing Trance classics with contemporary techno from Berlin.

The curatorial distinctiveness — Hardtrance and HandsUp as consciously cultivated sub-genres, rarely celebrated so explicitly in the mainstream EDM scene, and the explicit LGBTQIA+ affirmation clearly differentiated the festival from generic rave events.
