The Open Air Sommer Heidelberg 2025 was held for the first time in the Heidelgarten and laid the foundation for the expanded three-day format in 2026. Semmel Concerts Entertainment presented a mix of Folk, Dance, and Pop in the Heidelberg summer — a new festival highlight in the university city, complementing the diverse concert offerings between Karlstorbahnhof, Halle 02, and Schlossplatz.

Open Air Sommer Heidelberg 2025

The inaugural edition of Open Air Sommer Heidelberg took place in 2025 in the Heidelgarten — as a pilot project by Semmel Concerts Entertainment, one of Germany's largest concert promoters. The format combined popular acts from Folk-Brass, Dance, and German Pop and established itself as a new festival date in Heidelberg's summer event calendar.

The positive reception led to an expansion in 2026 with three clearly genre-separated festival days. With LaBrassBanda, TOPIC, KLINGANDE, and Pietro Lombardi, the young format will feature significantly bigger names in 2026 — making Heidelberg a growing festival destination in the Rhine-Neckar region.
