Overview
On May 25, 2024, the Bremische Evangelische Kirche invited to the Open-Air Baptism Festival on the Weser beach near Café Sand. Residents of Bremen of all ages were baptized under the open sky with real Weser river water, in one of the city's most beautiful spots on Stadtwerder.
After a joint opening, the baptisms took place at several stations directly by the water. Afterwards, families celebrated with their own picnics as well as coffee and cake on the beach, accompanied by cheerful music. All those interested in baptism were explicitly invited, regardless of their church affiliation — an open, low-threshold church offering on the Weser riverbank.
