About Nußdorfer Weinkerwe

The Nußdorfer Weinkerwe is one of the most traditional and most densely attended wine festivals in the Landau city villages. From July 31 to August 4, 2026, the wine village of Nußdorf will celebrate for five days at several locations in the village center. The tapping of the first barrel will be performed by the city and the local association on Friday evening at 6 p.m. in the schoolyard. The festival grounds are the fire station, the Kerwehof of the Landjugend at Kirchstraße 44, the schoolyard under the direction of TV 1913 Nußdorf, the courtyard of the Bauernkriegshaus (village shop), as well as the courtyards of the Münch, Sauer, and Martinshof wineries. On Friday and Saturday nights, a Schoppenbus will run every 30 minutes between the Alter Meßplatz Landau and Nußdorf.

Wine Village Nußdorf

Nußdorf is one of the most famous wine villages on the Südliche Weinstraße and, as a city village, belongs to Landau. Its location on the slope of the Pfälzerwald, the historic buildings, and the large number of wineries shape its image. The Nußdorfer Weinkerwe is the festival highlight of the year and brings the entire village community together.

Opening in the Schoolyard

On Friday at 6 p.m., the traditional barrel tapping will take place in the Nußdorf schoolyard. With welcoming remarks, music, and the first glass of wine (Schoppen), the Kerwe officially begins. The organizers – local associations, the city, and the vintners – toast the festival weekend together.

Several Festival Grounds in the Village

What makes Nußdorf special is the spatial distribution of the festival: The fire department has its stall, the Landjugend runs the Kerwehof in Kirchstraße 44, TV 1913 Nußdorf serves food and drinks in the schoolyard, the Bauernkriegshaus courtyard houses the village shop stall, and several wineries – Münch, Sauer, Martinshof – open their courtyards and serve their own wines. Those who stroll through the village will move between different atmospheres, dishes, and wine lines.

Schoppenbus Between Landau and Nußdorf

On Friday and Saturday evenings, a Schoppenbus runs every 30 minutes from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. between the Alter Meßplatz in Landau's city center and Nußdorf. This makes traveling without a car convenient; the Schoppenbus has been a central element of the festival infrastructure for years.

One of the Highlights of the Landau Kerwe Season

The Nußdorfer Weinkerwe is considered by many Palatinate residents to be the highlight of the city village Kerwen. The combination of size, village character, wine variety, and Schoppenbus connection makes it a supra-regional attraction.
