Overview

The 38th Bornquas in 2025 revived the historical tradition of the well festival in Neustadt an der Orla. Due to ongoing construction work on the market square, the program was spread across alternative locations in the city center. Nevertheless, showmen, association stalls, and stage concerts ensured a successful city festival that demonstrated the connection of the town's population to its oldest festival tradition.

The 2025 edition took place under special circumstances: the market square was closed due to renovation work, and the well festival relocated to surrounding streets and squares in the city center. Despite these limitations, the "Brunnenverein" (Well Association), together with the city and local associations, organized a full festival program. The 38th edition proved the vitality of a tradition documented since the 15th century and systematically revived since 1988 — an important anchor in the annual city calendar of Neustadt an der Orla.
