Overview
The 15th edition of the Neuköllner Jazzfest took place in January 2025 at Schloss Britz. Over 100 musicians in 15 ensembles performed avant-garde trios, big band sets, a cappella choirs, and standards. Students from the Paul Hindemith Music School performed alongside Berlin jazz professionals — the usual format for one of Berlin's best winter jazz programs. All concerts were free, funded by the Berlin Senate's Jazz Project Funding.
The 2025 edition continued the format of previous years: three days of jazz at Schloss Britz, over 100 musicians in 15 ensembles, programs ranging from avant-garde to standards, and students performing alongside established Berlin professionals. A competition was held on Saturday, and a brunch concert on Sunday, all free of charge. Since 2011, the Jazzfest has been one of the most reliable Berlin festivals in January and has helped establish Neukölln as a jazz hub in the capital.
