Nastätter Weihnachtsstraße

As the first weekend of Advent approaches, the festive season begins in many small German towns. In Nastätten, it's called the Weihnachtsstraße – a two-day town festival that transforms the Römerstraße into an Advent world.

The Christmas stalls offer the classic Advent selection: handicrafts, nativity scenes, Advent wreaths, Christmas tree decorations, wool items, candles, pottery, and regional specialties from the Blauen Ländchen. Mulled wine, punch, and cookies, along with bratwurst, potato pancakes, and crêpes – the food ranges from club stands to professional caterers.

Live music plays on a small stage: brass bands, Advent choirs, school groups, and singer-songwriters. The program changes throughout the two days, providing the musical backdrop for the market.

A highlight for children is the visit of Santa Claus, who traditionally strolls through Römerstraße, handing out gifts and making the market visit a special occasion for many young attendees. Craft activities, a children's carousel, and small performances complement the family program.

On Sunday afternoon, there is a late-night shopping event from 1 PM to 6 PM, extending the market with the opportunity for Christmas shopping in the Römerstraße shops.
