Hip-Hop, Reggae, and Pop Open-Air with Flo Rida, Sean Paul, Gentleman, Tiffany Aris, and ZAH1DE
N-JOY is the young pop station of Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), aimed at audiences aged 14 to 30. Since the 1990s, the station has shaped Northern German pop radio with current chart hits, hip-hop, R&B, dance, indie, and comedy. The N-JOY Starshow is the station's annual major open-air event, bringing international and national stars to Hannover.
Tramar Lacel Dillard, better known as Flo Rida, is one of the most successful singles artists of the past 15 years. With hits like Low (2007), Right Round (2009), Club Can't Handle Me (2010), Good Feeling (2011), Whistle (2012), and Wild Ones (with Sia, 2012), he dominated international charts. His live shows are energetic, party-focused, and perfect for an open-air format like the N-JOY Starshow.
Sean Paul Henriques from Kingston, Jamaica, is one of the most influential figures in modern dancehall reggae. With global hits like Get Busy, Temperature, We Be Burnin', So Fine, and (collaborations with Beyoncé) Baby Boy, and Sia's Cheap Thrills, he has uniquely bridged the gap between reggae and pop. His live shows are danceable, summery, and ideal for the Expo-Plaza's open-air atmosphere.
Tilmann Otto, aka Gentleman, has established himself since the late 1990s as one of Europe's most important reggae artists. With numerous stays in Jamaica, recordings in Kingston studios, and a close connection to the Jamaican reggae scene, he has earned respect in reggae's homeland. Hits like Dem Gone, Send a Prayer, Stand Strong, and his album Diversity are classics of German reggae.
Tiffany Aris is a German pop singer whose songs have achieved considerable streaming success in recent years. Her style combines catchy pop melodies with contemporary production. ZAH1DE is a young German-Arab rapper whose tracks are causing a stir in the hip-hop scene between Berlin, Stuttgart, and Frankfurt. Both acts represent the younger generation of the German pop scene, which N-JOY actively promotes.
The Expo-Plaza at the Hannover exhibition grounds has long been established as an open-air festival stage. With a capacity for over 20,000 visitors, state-of-the-art event technology, and good public transport links via tram line 8, it's the ideal location for major events like the N-JOY Starshow. The day before the N-JOY Starshow, the NDR 2 Plaza Festival takes place on the same stage — attending both festivals offers a packed Hannover festival weekend.
Set times, durations, and admission times will be announced by the organizer in advance.
