Overview

Musikwoche Benediktbeuern 2025 took place as usual in the last week of August at Benediktbeuern Monastery. String and guitar students, as well as ambitious amateurs from German-speaking countries, participated in the intensive masterclass. Three public concerts — the faculty opening concert and two participant concerts — framed the course week in the monastery's Baroque Hall and Don Bosco Room.

The 2025 edition continued the long-standing format. The venue remained the historic Baroque Hall of Benediktbeuern Monastery, considered one of Upper Bavaria's most beautiful concert halls with its wall and ceiling paintings. The participant concerts offered students the opportunity to present their rehearsed works to a public audience.

The Musikwoche format combines the monastery experience with in-depth musical instruction and public concert culture. This blend — spiritual place, artistic training, and concert experience — constitutes the event's unique charm, which has cultivated a loyal community of participants and concertgoers over the years.
