Tiefenstein is a district of Idar-Oberstein. The Musikverein Tiefenstein is one of the more ambitious district music associations in the region, combining brass music tradition with modern arrangement practices. The annual summer concert “Music in Motion” is the social highlight of the association's year and, for many members, a long preparatory marathon that dominates rehearsal work weeks before the concert.

Music in Motion Concept

Unlike a classical marching music concert, “Music in Motion” pursues a cross-over approach: film music (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, James Bond), pop classics in symphonic wind arrangements, big band pieces, occasionally classical orchestral adaptations, regional brass music classics. Choreographic elements, solo performances by individual musicians, and special guests can enrich the program.

Exhibition Hall as Concert Hall

The choice of Messe Idar-Oberstein as the venue is a clear statement: instead of the traditional club venue, the Musikverein Tiefenstein performs in a professional hall with a stage, tiered seating, stage lighting, and festival-level sound technology. This enables a concert experience that goes far beyond the usual level of an association concert. Admission from 6:00 PM, concert start 7:00 PM.
