In 2025, Munich once again celebrated its City Founding Festival in the Old Town. With the main stage at Marienplatz, a craft village at Odeonsplatz, an Irish-Bavarian stage at Rindermarkt, and a children's program in the Alter Hof, the city marked its birthday with free admission.
The Munich City Founding Festival 2025 once again commemorated the city's founding in 1158. Organized by the state capital Munich, the program with free admission was spread across several locations in the Old Town.
As every year, the core elements of the festival weekend included the opening by the Lord Mayor, brass music, and the Moriskentänzer dance on the main stage at Marienplatz, the craft village at Odeonsplatz, the Irish-Bavarian stage at Rindermarkt, and the children's program in the Alter Hof.
