Overview

The XI edition of Mord am Hellweg took place in autumn 2024 in the Hellweg region. Nearly 100 events with over 200 authors in around 25 cities between Dortmund, Bergkamen, Paderborn, and Soest. Bergkamen as one of the central venues. The festival once again confirmed its title 'Europe's largest crime biennale'.

XI Edition Mord am Hellweg 2024

The eleventh edition of Mord am Hellweg in autumn 2024 continued the biennale tradition, which has enlivened the Hellweg region with crime readings, workshops, and discussions every two years since 2002. Bergkamen was once again a central venue — the city library and the studio theater cultural center hosted several festival dates.

The program ranged from cozy crime to classic whodunits and hard-boiled thrillers. The organizer, Westfälisches Literaturbüro Unna, in cooperation with the municipalities, once again drew a positive conclusion. Preparations for the XII edition in 2026 with the motto 'Mörderdämmerung' were already underway.
