Three-day Schützenfest of the Moorriemer Schützenverein on Ferdinand-Witte-Platz Eckfleth — Family afternoon, beer pong, King's Ball
The Moorriemer Schützenfest is one of the liveliest Schützenfeste in the Wesermarsch region. The organizer is the Moorriemer Schützenverein, whose club center is located at Ferdinand-Witte-Platz in the Eckfleth district (Moorriem rural community). Moorriem belongs to the town of Elsfleth. For three days, the Eckfleth village square is transformed into a festival site with a marquee, shooting range, and stage — a meeting point for club members, the rural community, and guests.
The Schützenfest will take place from Saturday, July 25 to Monday, July 27, 2026. Three days of events featuring family entertainment, sporting competitions, and social highlights — a classic-modern Schützenfest that cherishes traditions while integrating new elements.
Saturday traditionally kicks off with the Family Afternoon, featuring games, a children's king shooting competition, and hands-on activities for the youngest attendees. A Children's Festival with a bouncy castle, face painting, and sweets makes the Schützenfest attractive for the little ones too.
A special feature of the Moorriemer Schützenfest is the Beer Pong Tournament. The younger generation has made this drinking game, originating from the USA, a regular part of the program — an unusual blend of a classic Schützenfest and modern party culture, keeping the club vibrant and young.
On Sunday, the traditional parade through Eckfleth and the king's shooting competition are the main events. The parade, accompanied by a marching band and joined by friendly clubs, winds through the rural community. Afterward, the proclamation of the new Schützenkönig (shooting king) follows.
The festival concludes with the King's Ball on Monday evening — the grand dancing event with a live band, where the new royal court is officially welcomed, and the Schützenfest ends in a festive atmosphere. Admission to the festival grounds is free; the dance evening and refreshments are paid for on-site.
The 2026 edition continues the Moorriemer Schützenverein's proven three-day festival concept. Exact times and live bands will be announced by the club in the summer.
With the beer pong tournament, the club consciously focuses on a modern element that actively involves the younger generation in club life.
