Open-air cinema at the Eisweiher – this is Pirmasens' version of a summer idea cherished in many German cities. The youth portal MoGugge of the city of Pirmasens organizes the event, making it an accessible experience for the citizens. The Eisweiher as a backdrop gives the evening its special atmosphere: water, reflections, trees – a natural stage for the screen under the open sky.

Film Starts at Dusk

The film start depends on the daylight situation: only when it gets dark enough can the projection on the screen be convincing. In June, this usually means a start between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM. Until then, there is time to settle in, have something to eat, and get into the mood for the evening.

Bring Your Own Seating

Your own seating is necessary – the event does not provide chairs. Picnic blankets, camping chairs, folding chairs, or simply cushions are welcome. This self-sufficiency is part of the concept and makes the evening a social picnic experience. Popcorn, the cinema classic, is offered on site.

Free Admission

Free admission is a statement: the open-air cinema is intended to be an accessible summer offering for all citizens, especially for young people and young adults who are MoGugge's core target group. The format is part of a series of other MoGugge activities taking place in Pirmasens in the summer of 2026.
