Overview

The Modular Festival 2025 took place at Gaswerk Augsburg, once again confirming its reputation as the most important urban platform for Hip-Hop, Indie, and Alternative in Bavaria-Swabia. Three open-air stages, an electronic floor, and the usual activist program made the industrial monument in the Oberhausen district vibrate for three days. The organizer was, as always, the Stadtjugendring Augsburg.

A Proven Festival Formula

In 2025, the Modular Festival stuck to its characteristic concept: three open-air stages around the historic gasometers, a DJ floor in the brick halls, and a dense mix of German-language Hip-Hop, Indie Pop, and Alternative Rock. The Augsburg audience, traditionally young and culturally inclined, filled the grounds until late into the night.

Stadtjugendring as Curator

The Stadtjugendring Augsburg remained the sole organizer in 2025. Volunteer teams curated the lineup, stage construction, and Aktivisti Camp – a model that sets the Modular apart from commercial festival operations at Augsburg's Plärrer or the nearby Augsburg City Summer.
