Overview

The 13th Medieval Spectacle at Düben Castle took place in April 2025, once again bringing over 40 craftspeople, knight combat groups, minstrels, and jesters to the courtyard of the historic moated castle. Suckling pig over an open fire, mead from clay jugs, medieval music with hurdy-gurdy and bagpipes — the tradition carefully maintained over the years continued, laying the groundwork for the 14th edition in 2026.

13th Edition 2025

In April 2025, Düben Castle transformed into a medieval market village for the 13th time. Over 40 craftspeople and merchants, several knight combat demonstrations per day, continuous music programs, and the popular family activities attracted thousands of visitors from Nordsachsen, Saxony-Anhalt, and Lusatia to Bad Düben.

As in previous years, the organizer was COEX from Cottbus. The authentic historical setting of the 1000-year-old moated castle, the open fires, the food stalls with suckling pig and "Kräuterflader" — all contributed to making the festival in 2025 one of the most atmospheric medieval market events in Saxony.
