Overview
The Mindener Freischießen 2025 continued the centuries-old civic shooting tradition. With Grünholen, a tailcoat parade, the Shooting King crowning at the Cathedral, and the Grand Tattoo, it was once again the summer highlight in Minden.
In 2025, the Bürgerbataillon marched through Minden's city center in their black tailcoats and top hats. The Shooting King was traditionally proclaimed at the Cathedral, paraded in a royal carriage, and bid farewell at the festive conclusion with the Großer Zapfenstreich. A tradition maintained uninterrupted since 1682.
Programme
Four days of Mindener Freischießen with Grünholen, the main festival day (drum and fife signal, tailcoat parade, King's crowning), guard days in the districts, and the Großer Zapfenstreich.
