Overview

The 2025 Midsummer Celebration gathered islanders and summer guests on June 21 at Strunwai Beach for the traditional midsummer party with a costume group, brass band, beach bonfire, and shanty concert. As every year, a moving highlight of the Amrum summer season.

Review of the 2025 Midsummer Celebration

In 2025, the Amrum Midsummer Celebration followed its established format: a parade of the traditional costume group and brass band from the Strunwai beach access, the solemn lighting of the woodpile in the evening, followed by an open-air concert by the Küstenmatrosenchor by the fire. The island's volunteer fire departments provided food and drinks.

With the bright midsummer sky over the North Sea, the crackling of the beach bonfire, and the voices of the shanty choir in the open concert, the celebration, as every year, was a moment where the Amrum island community celebrates itself — islanders and summer guests alike.
