Open-Air Metal Festival on the lake stage at Vörder See with Warlord, Rage, Victory, Ancient Curse, Motörhell and Dishonor
When one thinks of classic metal festivals, names like Wacken, Bang Your Head, or Keep It True come to mind. The Metal Lake Festival adds a special venue to this tradition: the lake stage at Vörder See, nestled in the greenery of the North German plain. This open-air setting gives the festival an almost intimate, festival-goer-friendly atmosphere, far from the massive crowds.
For the 2026 edition, the Metal Lake Festival has curated an internationally oriented program:
For visitors from out of town, the festival offers camping facilities in close proximity to the lake stage. Those who book a camping ticket can spend the entire weekend by the lake, with beer by the campfire, walks along the shore, and a relaxed festival vibe. Food stalls and bars provide attendees with food and drinks.
The lake stage at Vörder See is one of the most beautiful open-air locations in Northern Germany. Nestled in a park with walking paths, old trees, and a view of the water, it offers a relaxed atmosphere that is distinctly different from large festival grounds. The short journey from Bremervörde train station makes the visit even more attractive.
The compact one-day format allows all six bands to be experienced without overlap. The pace ranges from melodic US Power Metal to German Speed Metal and tribute sounds in the style of Motörhead.
The Metal Lake Festival is a festival for lovers of classic heavy metal. Instead of EDM stages and large commercial shows, the focus is on honest songs, guitar solos, and live energy.
