In 2026, the NORDERNEY – meine Insel Lauf turns ten years old. What began in 2017 as a small island format has developed into an established running event that attracts runners from all over northern Germany to Norderney. The appeal of the run lies in the unique combination of sporting challenge and maritime scenery.

The event format caters to all generations:

• Children's Run: short distance for families
• 5 km: ideal for beginners and hobby runners
• 10 km: classic distance for ambitious hobby runners
• Half Marathon (21.1 km): challenging long-distance run with an island circuit
• Dog Run 3 km: one of Germany's few official dog runs

Routes with Island Character

The routes lead through the central Norderney landscape elements: promenade by the sea, dune paths through the nature reserve, beach sections on firm sand, island roads with views of historic spa villas. On the half marathon, runners practically circle the entire island.
