The premiere of the Maultaschen Festival in June 2025 transformed Metzingen's city center into a Swabian specialties mile for the first time. The first edition exceeded the city's expectations: thousands of visitors came from the greater Stuttgart-Reutlingen-Tübingen area to sample Maultaschen in countless variations.

The first edition of 'Germany's Largest Maultaschen Festival' in June 2025 in Metzingen was an immediate success. The City of Metzingen, as the organizer, brought together restaurateurs from the entire region, along with Maultaschen manufacturers, cookbook publishers, spice merchants, and kitchen outfitters.

The concept was convincing: Classic Swabian Maultaschen, vegetarian and vegan variations, sweet Maultaschen as dessert, crossover creations like Maultaschen burgers and Maultaschen meatloaf. Live music on two stages, a children's program, and a Maultaschen peeling competition were enthusiastically received by the public. Due to its success, the festival was announced for 2026 with an expanded program.
