Overview

Three days of festive joy in the old town: The 2025 Margaretenfest was the last time the historic Mainstraße was used before the construction work on the Mainlände. Franconian wine, Maintal tavern cuisine, live music, and festive lighting made the festival a worthy farewell to the familiar festival backdrop. The next Margaretenfest is planned for 2027 – for the opening of the then renovated Mainstraße as part of the village anniversary.

The last edition of the Margaretenfest before the two-year hiatus had a special status. The people of Margetshöchheim were aware that the Mainstraße would no longer be available in its current form in 2026, and the festival thus gained an emotional significance. Three days of festivities – Friday, Saturday, Sunday – with beer tapping, Franconian wine stands, Maintal tavern cuisine, and live music in the old town.

Franconian wines from regional vintners, bratwurst and Schäufele, lard bread, cheese platters – the culinary classics of the Maintal summer festival characterized the program. On Sunday, the festival concluded with a morning pint and a final stage performance in the old town.

The next Margaretenfest is planned for 2027 – for the opening of the then renovated Mainstraße as part of the village anniversary.
