Overview

In 2025, the Holsteiner Verband's mare registration for the Körbezirke Nordfriesland and Schleswig-Flensburg also took place in Behrendorf. As every year, the older mares were registered and evaluated first, followed by the younger mares — a routine that has been part of the breeding calendar in the Nordfriesland district for decades.

The 2025 registration at the Behrendorf riding hall followed the Holsteiner Verband's tried-and-tested format. Breeders from all over northern Schleswig-Holstein presented their mares to the commission. The event is one of those occasions that, without much fanfare but with a long tradition, shape the rhythm of horse breeding in Nordfriesland.

As usual, access was open and free. A technically demanding event, rooted in the region, which, in the shadow of major competitions, reveals the true substance of Holsteiner breeding.
