The Mainau Midsommarfest 2025 took place on the weekend around June 21 — the Swedish Midsommar Day — in the castle courtyard of Mainau Island. Tradition of the Bernadotte Family

The Midsommarfest has been part of Mainau's identity and the Bernadotte family's tradition for decades. In 2025, it was celebrated in the familiar castle courtyard setting, with the characteristic decorated pole and folk dances — thousands of visitors to Mainau experienced a rare encounter with vibrant Swedish folk culture in Southern Germany that weekend.

Mainau GmbH will continue the festival in 2026 in the same successful format. The combination of the castle, Swedish tradition, and Lake Constance atmosphere makes the Mainau Midsommarfest one of Baden-Württemberg's most unusual summer festivals.
