The 16th Literaturfest Meißen 2025 once again delighted thousands of book lovers from all over Germany. Over the weekend, around 260 program items were spread across the historic old town — open-air readings on the central squares, intimate readings in courtyards and monasteries, children's and youth formats.
16th Edition 2025
In June 2025, the 16th edition of the Literaturfest Meißen took place — as always open-air, as always free, as always spread across the historic old town. Over 250 program items, author readings, children's and youth formats, city tours, and theater productions characterized three days.
Thousands of book lovers from Saxony, Germany, and beyond came to experience literature against the backdrop of Albrechtsburg Castle, the Cathedral, and the medieval old town alleys. The festival confirmed its reputation as one of the most important reading festivals in Central Germany.
